Music by Sjors week 1

Hello there!

Here is my first weekly music update!

Today we are going to review 3 artists who have released new music this week. These are singles and full albums. The artists I am going to discuss this week are Douwe Bob, Royal Blood and Foxlane.

Starting with Douwe Bob. His new Album "Born To Win, Born To Lose" was released last Friday 28 May. With this album Douwe goes a bit "back-to-basic". He goes more in the country direction with this album. Together with my father, I can enjoy this enormously. My favorite song of this new album is "Amsterdam". The thirteen song album receives 8 out of 10 stars from me. Definitely a must listen.

On with the new Royal Blood album. The album is called "Typhoons" and this album is again a typical Royal Blood album. the two band members let their own sound fully come back in this new one. At this moment there is a hype in the music scene to go back to the 80's vibe in terms of music. This is also good to hear in certain songs of the new album. My favorite song from the album is "Boilermaker". This is because it is a really nice, clumsy song that can make you go crazy at a festival. The new Royal Blood album does not surpass the previous album, but that is also almost impossible since that is one of the best albums ever. "Typhoons" gets 7 out of 10 stars from me. It is a nice album to run with, for example.

We end with Foxlane. This band from Nijmegen released a single called "flashy lights, underground" last week. The release of the song was announced online on radio KinkNL with a live interview with frontman Guus Timmermans. Foxlane is still a relatively small band, but certainly with a lot of growth potential. The band already has a hit on its hands with the song "Birmingham", which is about the popular Netflix series "Peaky Blinders". With this song, they have already reached over 3 million plays on Spotify and they have performed live on "De Wereld Draait Door". A few days after the release of the new song, the band announced an EP release show in Merleyn in Nijmegen. I give this new single by Foxlane 8 out of 10 stars. It's nice and loud and you can mosh on it live during a concert or party.

Thank you for reading my very first post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and that you will come back to my blog more often. Please leave a comment with your favorite music.
